Account Deletion

Virtualeagues lets you close your account and have your personal data removed, while the competitive league records you took part in are preserved. This page explains how to request account deletion, what is permanently removed, what is retained (and why), and the requirements and timelines that apply.
1. How to Delete Your Account
You can request account closure directly from your account settings:
- Log in to your Virtualeagues account.
- Go to Dashboard → Settings.
- Open the “Close Account” section and follow the confirmation steps. For safety, you’ll be asked to type DELETE to confirm.
- Your account is then scheduled for closure after a 14-day grace period. You can cancel anytime before then by simply logging back in.
2. What Is Permanently Removed
When your account is closed, the following personal data is permanently removed:
- Your email address, profile picture, optional social media links, and Discord connection.
- Your account login credentials — the account can no longer be signed into.
- Your personal preferences, saved favorites, notifications, and login security logs.
3. What Is Retained (and Why)
Your gamertag and gaming statistics — including match records, rosters, standings, and achievements — are retained as part of the league’s competitive records and historical integrity.
These records are anonymized from your personal identity but kept so that league and season history remains accurate for the other competitors who took part. This data is not personal contact information and does not identify you outside of the competitive record.
4. Before You Can Close Your Account
To keep leagues and teams running for everyone else, you must resolve the following before a closure request can be accepted:
- Transfer or disband any team you own or manage.
- Step down from any co-manager or admin roles.
- Cancel any active subscription first (via Billing).
The Close Account option will tell you which of these apply to you and link you to where you can resolve each one.
5. Timeline & Retention
- Closure requests complete 14 days after the request (the grace period).
- Login IP logs follow the standard 90-day retention described in our Privacy Policy.
- After processing, the account is anonymized and cannot be recovered.
